The EuroCC initiative
EuroCC (European Competence Centre) is an international project that supports research and innovation in the field of HPC in Europe. The participating countries are tasked with setting up a national competence centre in each country in order to identify, document and coordinate the core activities and competences in HPC and high‑performance data analytics (HPDA) at national level.
The aim of the EuroCC cooperation is to raise HPC competences to a first‑class level and to make HPC expertise available to a wide range of users in science, industry and the public sector. In this way, a sustainable and competitive HPC ecosystem in Europe is to be built.
WHO IS INVOLVED?
Since the start of the third EuroCC project phase in April 2026, 36 countries have been involved: Albania, Austria, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czechia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Kosovo, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Montenegro, the Netherlands, North Macedonia, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and Turkey.
EuroCC is coordinated by the High‑Performance Computing Center Stuttgart. Network activities and the exchange of information between the EuroCC competence centres are led by the Coordination and Support Action CASTIEL.

Services
Within the EuroCC initiative we provide HPC support for SMEs and industry, combining hands‑on expertise with access to European supercomputing resources. Our focus is on compute for AI workloads, HPC for engineering simulations (including CFD/FEA/CAE) and data‑intensive workloads where faster runtimes and larger problem sizes make a measurable difference.

HPC in Europe: Connecting Europe’s HPC community through one shared identity, one portal, and one vision.
HPC in Europe is the common umbrella for Europe’s network of National Competence Centres, Centres of Excellence and related HPC initiatives, uniting partners from more than 36 countries under one shared identity, portal and vision. At its core is the HPC in Europe Portal, a single gateway to HPC services, expertise, training, events, success stories and other resources, designed for both experienced users and newcomers. By bringing together information and activities that were previously scattered across many websites, it strengthens collaboration, increases the visibility and impact of national and EU-funded efforts, and makes it much easier for users to find the support and opportunities they need within the European HPC ecosystem.
