Austrian Scientific Computing (ASC) is a consortium of Austrian universities. With the supercomputers MUSICA (42 PFLOP/s), VSC‑4 (2.7 PFLOP/s) and VSC‑5 (2.31 PFLOP/s), ASC operates Austria’s leading HPC systems and provides compute resources for projects that require high performance.
HPC is used well beyond traditional domains such as physics, chemistry, meteorology and life sciences (bioinformatics). Today, compute‑intensive simulations and data processing support research and innovation across many fields and industrial applications. The ASC team (based at TU Wien) operates the systems and supports users.
